Glendale Beautiful was established as a non-profit organization in 1950 in Glendale, California to promote, encourage, and protect the beauty of our community and to assist the City of Glendale in preserving  and presenting our early California history at the Casa Adobe de San Rafael, located at 1330 Dorothy Drive, Glendale.

Since its inception, Glendale Beautiful has observed Arbor Day annually by encouraging the donation of trees honoring loved ones, organizations, or causes in local parks and public areas.  To date, over 7,500 trees have been added and our efforts have helped the City of Glendale earn the designation of a "Tree City, U.S.A." for over 30 consecutive years.  We also recognize commercial, residential, and public properties for exemplary landscaping and attractive buildings with annual awards.

Glendale Beautiful was active in supporting the restoration of the Casa Adobe de San Rafael and members were instrumental in furnishing the Casa with period furniture and artifacts.  We provide docents for tours and self-guided visits to the Casa, and organize an open house weekend with Luminarias, seasonal decorations, music and refreshments in December.

From organizing very popular rose shows and pruning demonstrations throughout the 1980s to presenting educational programs more recently about low-water, drought-tolerant native landscaping, Glendale Beautiful has responded to the times and to the local needs.  We look ahead to a bright future of helping to protect and improve the environment and appearance of our City.

YOU are the key to our continued success!  We welcome new members who care about a beautiful Glendale.
